In Mail there are two primary views. The default layout and the "Use Column View".

Default Layout:

  • Click View menu then ensure "Show Date and Time" is checked

Column View:

  • Click View menu then ensure "Show Date and Time" is checked
  • Right-click on the column headings bar and you can select the columns you wish to show
  • Make sure "Date Received" is shown in the Inbox view and "Date Sent" is shown in the Sent view

Date & Time formats:

  • System Preferences -> Date & Time -> Date & Time tab -> Open Language & Region -> General tab -> Advanced button
  • Look at the Dates and Times tabs and you can adjust the formats
  • In the General Tab you can define the Region which changes the format of date & time layout
  • In the USA MM/DD/YY
  • In the some countries DD/MM/YY
  • You should be able to define the formats on the Dates / Times here.
