G Drive with Monterey

I recently upgraded my MacBook pro m1 2020 to Monterey and when I did my laptop would no longer recognize my G-Drive external hard drive when I'm using the G-Drive provided USB-C to USB-C cable. If I use an Apple USB-C to USB-C cable my laptop recognizes the external hard drive. The only Apple USB-C to USB-C cable I have is my charging cable.

This isn't necessarily always feasible. As I often need my laptop plugged in while doing high-impact photo/video work off the hard drive.

Is there a way to make the drive's USB-C to USB-C cable work? Does Apple have any plans to fix this issue? If not, will Apple force me to pay for a cord I already have because they want me to use their product?

For reference, this is the G-drive I'm using. (External link to Amazon)

Purchase another cable. Just note that typical USB-C charging cables to not transmit date. Thus make sure you get a data cable that can also supply the necessary power to the G Drive.

That is how it was resolved in previous discussion

How is this external drive formatted?

If NTFS updating the third party supporting software may be a resolve.
