If you do not know the required information and you are not the original owner, get the owner of the account to remove the lock or return the device for a refund or recycle the device. The device is otherwise useless to you. If the owner is unknown and has not provided contact information as a message showing in the login screen, there is no way to contact the owner unless the person who gave you the device knows them.

Apple will not do anything about it. They don’t get involved with used device sales. They will only deal with the original owner if that owner first gets in touch with them and asks for help and can provide proof of Reginald ownership.

Sorry, but there is nothing you can do and Apple will not assist you as you’re not the original owner.

The people on this forum are other users like you. There is nothing we can "do".

The activation lock service (mentioned in one of the links) is the only thing Apple offers for unlocking a phone but they are pretty strict in what they define as an "owner". Unless you can demonstrate to Apple's satisfaction that you are the rightful owner (usually requires the original receipt from Apple) they won't unlock it, nor will they try to find the original owner.

They will not contact anyone for you. Their privacy policy makes it very clear they will not contact one of their clients at the request of another of their clients.

I have never heard of Apple assisting in this issue. They leave it up to the owner to provide contact information as a message if they wish to be contacted.
