this morning my phone X displayed the restore symbol, was working fine prior. Have tried update via itunes, gets part way through then throws error 1100. Have tried forced restart twice, same result. any suggestion for what next to try?

Apple Support could not assist any further, so factory reset was the result. No idea what caused this, lost photos and data etc. I could have agreed to a repair attempt by Apple, at $878+, I'd rather spend that on a new phone.
I did have a backup, until the mobo on my PC fried just recently. Sometimes things line up well, sometimes not so good! I appreciate the reply. I've got my phone working again, minus some stuff. As per John Travolta, "The real challenge in life is to always look forward."
