apple music downloads aac265 on mac music library. cant convert protected files to lossless?

You can't convert Protected files to lossless. Read this About lossless audio in Apple Music – Apple Support (UK)

Note you need macOS Catalina or later and us the music app to get lossless Apple Music.

Hi,

Note you need macOS Catalina or later and use the music app to get lossless Apple Music on your computer. You will get lossless on iOS devices with latest OS.
