MagSafe is not charting on the new MacBook Pro 16 inch

Why after shutdown if I place the MagSafe, the charging does NOT start?

It does continuously the annoying sound as attempt to start charging, but does NOT start. If I do the same with any other USB port all are working well.

Has anyone tried Restoring their Mac using Apple Configurator 2 (ver. 2.15) .. this might help. The restore will erase the Mac but it will also update any firmware chips if available…. Make sure your magsafe charger is plugged in while you do this, so the Mac can communicate with the chip in the cable…

… If this doesn’t work, keep in mind that a future software update will update the firmware of the chips on the MacBook which will most likely resolve the issue

I definitely wouldn’t freak out and return the computer because it’ll take another two months to get a new one

There are several threads on this issue now on these forum and on Reddit. Many people have the same issue. When laptop is turned off and the lid is closed Mag Safe acts in a strange way. LED light turns on and off continuously and plug/unplug sound goes hand in hand with this. Some of these people says that this started to happen after recent update. I have the same issue with my 16 M1 Pro.
