Find and replace function

In Pages, under "Edit" the "Find" function no longer works for me. I use it frequently to find words in longer documents, so it's a bummer it no longer works. Any solutions? Many thanks in advance.

It still works fine for me, despite the deluge of posts from those that swear it does not. The Find/Replace facility in Pages scans the entire document for the Find string. That does not mean that it will highlight every hit initially — sometimes it will, and other times, you must click the '>' button to illuminate the first found word. How you have the selections in the ⚙ panel will also govern the Find behavior, and it might also be relevant to clear the previous Find items:
