How do I locate my air pods if they are not in “Find my”

AirPods which have a discharged battery, or in standby mode in a closed case will only be visible for a limited period in Find My. In any case you will only get the location where the AirPods were last seen active by your iPhone.

Your methods of last resort:
(a) Try to remember where you last had your AirPods.
(b) Search the old fashioned way with Mk1 Human Eyeball.
(c) If you have kids available, arrange a Scavenger Hunt.
