Eraser button not able to select
I’m trying to delete a MacBook Pro disk utility for my niece and can’t get the eraser button to highlight

If you are booted to the volume, you can not delete the volume.
You do not paint a very big picture— what is the end game here.
Typically from Recover or Internet Recovery...DiskUtility>View>Show All Devices
