MacBook Pro High Sierra 10.13.6 cannot see iPhone SE in iTunes 12.8.3.1 since iOS 15.0.2 update.

My question is basically explained in the title. MacBook Pro High Sierra 10.13.6 cannot see iPhone SE in iTunes 12.8.3.1 since iOS 15.0.2 update. I did the iOS 15.0.2 update directly on my iphone as for some reason I couldn't get iTunes to do it for me. I backed up iPhone to the MacBook Pro in iTunes before doing the iOS update. Is there a way I can somehow force iTunes or the iPhone to see each other again so I can do iPhone backups and general management of iPhone music files and photo downloads again? Many thanks.
