Purchsed Apple motion but it's very slow

I have just purchased apple motion 5.5.6 from the store

on start up it takes 15-30 minutes to start running really slow, and when I try to publish it keep spinnin without finishing.


I have the latest macbook pro and it should be more that good for it, I tried restarting and uninstall and reinstall. nothings helped.

any suggestions ?

By the way I assume you meant 5.5.3 and not 5.5.6, as the latter does not exist.

The first thing to do is uninstall sophos.

It is not giving you any protection and is hurting performance.

The version of Parallels is very old. The current one is 17, you have 11. This almost certainly does not work in Big Sur, and could be causing issues.

Google and its keystone daemons are well known enemies of professional, and especially video applications.

You should uninstall completely, and then drag Motion to the trash and download a new copy from the App Store.

And, although they are doing nothing, you should take to opportunity to do the "clean up" indicated by Etrecheck.

These are files that point to stuff that has been removed, but still remain there in the LaunchAgents and LaunchDaemons folders. Just rerun Etrecheck and follow the instructions to delete them.
