preloaded apps

i am trying to upload some videos to my ipad so i can watch them while flying when i plug my ipad into my laptop and try to sync them with itunes i get a message that vidoes cannot be loaded on my device because the video or tv app is not installed and to get them from the app store but there is no apps called video or tv apps in the app store
