How to make alarm go off on Apple Watch while using bedtime and night stand?

Hi,

I hate bringing my phone to bed. For me it's a no go if I really want to wind down. So, I've always trusted my Apple watch alarms on night stand mode to wake me up. The alarm goes off normally even if the watch is on silent mode (and it is always on silent mode).

After upgrading to iOS 15, I decided to give bedtime a try. So I set up a sleeping schedule. I arranged an alarm to wake me up in the morning. But the problem is that the alarm is not going off on my watch, only in my phone. And, as I mentioned, I don't bring it to bed. The watch does even turn the display up 5 minutes before the scheduled time, as usual, but I get no sound coming from the watch. Just from the iPhone.

So, for me, the expected behaviour was to have the same behaviour I get when using regular alarms. But I don't. And I'd like how I can get to use bedtime, with my iPhone far from bed, my watch on silent mode and night stand, and have the alarm go off on the watch. As I did for years, before trying bedtime....

I'm I missing something here?

Thanks

Hi,

thanks for your answer. but I'm not sure I made my issue clear here, or if I fully understood your suggestion. I've been to Change or turn off your next wake-up alarm' section thru the link you've provided. I've followed the steps on my watch, and I what I got was a warning like this on my watch "Your Watch is in silent mode. Rather than play a sound, your watch will tap your wrist.".

So, this is exactly what I'm trying to avoid. Because this should not be the expected behaviour, in order to be consistent with how alarms have been working so far on Apple Watch.

What I'd like is to be able to have the bedtime alarm go off on my watch, with sound, while on during night stand and silent mode.

This is how alarms have been working so far, the only new variable is bedtime... And it appears that if the alarm is set by in the bedtime feature, it changes the usual behaviour. Apparently for no good reason.

Thanks
