set up: text messages from iPhone Pro13 aren't going through to android phones, why?

See here: If you can't send or receive messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

And also contact your carrier. Messages to Android phones are SMS, which are handled through the carrier.

It didn’t work. However we got assistance from Apple support at the local store, who was a former Verizon employee, and it was solved by “CALLING” Verizon to get the text block removed from the account.
