Did I make a mistake having a nonApple screen put on my phone… Peter at DialNet on Melrose in Hollywood said the screen he installed was better… just want to make sure the $220 we spent was worthwhile and he was being honest about not having access to ALL my data… Thanks.

A replacement screen of any type will not be "better" than an authentic Apple display.
I'm not sure what Apple would have charged to replace your screen, but you should have checked that first if you didn't.

In the end, only you can say whether what you spent was worthwhile and whether your savings over an original Apple display were worthwhile.
