Why is there no app store in apple tv
Looks like Apple have removed the App Store from Apple TV 3rd gen. Why? Their help document isn’t helpful either as it suggests that if you do a software update you will be able to install apps, which you can’t.

app store was introduced with appletvHD(4g)
the channels ("apps") are server side on apples servers and many of the original content providers has since pull their channels
