I am getting an error message when installing updates, says an error has occurred installing IOS 14.8. Any idea what I can do to get this to update?

Delete the iOS software and then try again.

Go to Settings>General>iPhone Storage and let the list of apps load. Swipe to find the iOS software and tap on it. Delete it in the next screen. Restart your phone and go back to the settings and download the software again and see if it will install.
