How do you search a playlist in Music on Mac?

I am aware of the View >Show Filter Field (opt+cmnd+F) to temporarily reveal a search bar, but do you really have to go through this extra step(s) every time you want to perform the common task of searching for a specific song? This can't be right - can it?

Please tell me theres a way to make the "filter" field permanent across all playlists. It is senseless not to have it there and makes things unnecessarily complicated and frustrating for the user.
