Sync iPod touch to iMac

I'm trying to sync an iPod to Music playlist on iMac running iOS 10.15.7. I see the iPod in Finder, but when I ask it to Sync, nothing happens.

I disconnected all other unnecessary USB cables, then restarted the iMac and iPod. Then I was able to sync them
