Mac OS software update 11.5.2 stops installing
I have tried to install the macOS software update 11.5.2 several times but it stops short of 15 minutes. It will not finish installation.

Big Sur states that you will need 35.5 GB of free storage when upgrading from High Sierra or newer, and 44.5 GB when upgrading from an older versions.
Do some house cleaning—if this is not your issue then try the install from a SafeBoot.

The full installer should be in your Application folder "Install macOS Big Sur.app"

@Leroydouglas: Read the question! Arcturus44 is trying to update (probably from 11.4 ).
I have a similar problem although macOS suddenly stops downloading the update referring to Internet connectivity ,which is fine since I've tried other parallel dpownloads without problem. FYI: Software update says a mere 6+ GB space is needed for the update.
Thank you for your reply. In my case the only way I could download and install the update was using CMD+R and reinstalling a fresh copy of MacOS that was provided with the upgrade built in.
