This is my 13 year old daughter’s iPad which is 2 months old. It has been in a silicon case and she only really uses it in her bed to watch YouTube at night. I believe it has been overheating and bent. Apple have advised I would need to cover the repair cost however I will not and will be getting rid of every apple device I own if this is the case. I have forwarded the pictures and waiting a response though not hopeful! Very disappointed to be made to feel like this is something we have caused!

Thank you for replying!

I have been doing some digging and found others who have had the same issue with iPads…

I believe there must be a defect in this product possibly overheating to cause the bend as there is absolutely no other reason!

Our iPhones are in better shape and they have been dropped multiple times and used constantly!

I am awaiting a response from apple from the pictures I have sent and also been looking at small courts claims should I not get the free of charge repair I feel I should be receiving.

Wonder if anyone else has had the same issue could let me know ☺️

Apple and Apple Stores DO NOT repair iPads. ONLY does in/out of warranty device replacements.

Unfortunately, the one-year, free, limited AppleCare DOES NOT cover ANY accidental or incidental user damages.

The free, limited warranty ONLY covers manufacturing defects.

Unless you can concretely prove this bend was caused by a manufacturing defect, then you will have to pay approximately 60% of that iPad's original price to replace.

If you had purchased paid, extended, two-year+, AppleCare+ for this iPad, at time of purchase OR within 60 days of purchase, a replacement device would havd only cost you a small $49 U.S.D. device replacement fee and NOT 60% of that iPad's original costs for the same refurbished device replacement.

Sorry, but this is the way it is.

Sorry.
