Trade in and using the money for a new one

Hi there,

I want to purchase the new iPhone 12 and trade my current iPhone XR. Can I use the money from the trade in for my new iphone.

Trade in iPhone If I buy a new iPhone, can I say a month later trade in an iPhone and instead of getting a gift card, get money back from that new phone- like the trade in value goes towards that new phone just later on, is that possible? I did it a few years ago in America where I traded in my phone 3 days after I bought a new one after I backed it up because I was having problems on the day, and they took money off from the receipt.
