Ipod

I lost my Ipod Classic (which I loved) a while back. I decided to get a new one via Amazon. Now, I want to add songs on to it. But for some reason, it won't work. Itunes keeps freezing while the Ipod is plugged in, and says that its connecting with an arrow that keeps going around and around. I have the newest version of Itunes.

Instead of wasting data on my phone to listen to music via Youtube, I would love to have my new Ipod work.

I don't know what to do.
