Unable to record voiceover with internal or external mic in iMovie.

Voice-over won't record on I-Movie from my MacBook Air I'm trying to record a voice-over on an art class video using the computer microphone. I have the settings on iMovie to the system microphone, mute is not checked, the system settings look good and the countdown and recording show that it's happening...just not picking up and recording any sound when I talk.

voice over not recording I'm trying to do a voice over in iMovie using the built in mic on a MacBook pro I've made sure the input and output are set to built in....but even though I get the countdown it doesn't record. when the window is open that shows the sound it is picking up sounds. Why won't it record? Please help!

iMovie Voiceover Doesn't Record I was opening up the iMove voiceover interface as usual, but when I spoke into the microphone, it wasn't recording anything. I checked my input to find that it was to the internal microphone as usual. I checked the input volume and it reads 100%. After that, I checked if iMovie needed updating. It was up-to-date. Then I checked the microphone with QuickTime player. It worked. Is there another troubleshooting tactic I haven't tried for MacOS Catalina 10.15?

Never mind this question. I found answer already posted. It is a security issue that need to be changed to access mic.
