New Apple Watch not compatible with my country

I just bought a new Apple Watch (SE 40mm model A2353) and when I bought it the people in the store told me that it was compatible with my country (Brazil) and carrier (Vivo). However I just now looked over the website and saw that this particular model is not compatible with Brazil. Does Apple approve news countries for the models every now and then? Or will I need to return the watch since I cannot use cellular?

You will need to return the watch. That is a North American model and will not work with carriers in Brazil. The model for Brazil is the A2355.

Due to differences in cellular bands, watches are region based and cannot be used outside of the region they are for. This is a hardware limitation based on the cellular chip inside and cannot be changed by a software update.
