The only way to know the ultimate price is to take it in for service, and have it diagnosed. Get this diagnose from your local Retailer, an AASP, or to Apple directly.

Get it Serviced.

Put aside what Apple said, and rather than taking it to Apple, take it to a retailer, or to an AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider). They are not Apple, and therefore offer their own prices and services, other than what Apple does.

Contacting an AASP:

So, take to to an AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) seeing if they offer service for this.

3. Enter: your location information
4. See: if there is an AASP nearby
5. Contact: an AASP that shows up, and find out more about the services that they offer to fix the iPhone
