What is the next step?

I'm trying to recover my macbook, hich shows a blinking folder with question mark.

The HDD as gone. I replaced it, and tried to boot with an usb drive (power on and then Option key), no success. Tried to boot from internet, again no success. Tried to go to Recovery Mode (Command+R, Option+Command+R, Shift+Option+Command+R), again nothing.


What should i do?

Here are some steps that may help.


  1. Reset SMC.
  2. Reset NVRAM.
  3. Reinstall macOS from macOS Recovery over the internet (Option-Command-R).
