IPad screen not responding

Has anyone had an issue where the screen on your iPad is frozen and won't acknowledge any touch? I was going to try to turn it off and back on to see if that would help but it is not recognizing any touch.

Start here >>> If the screen isn’t working on your iPhone or iPad – Apple Support

If iPad isn’t responding, do one of the following:

  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On other iPad models: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.

If iPad still doesn’t turn on, or if it gets stuck during start up, see the Apple Support article If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't turn on or is frozen. Or if your iPad isn’t working correctly after you restart it, see the iPad Support website.

I think it is time for you to search online for your nearest, “local” Apple store location and call contact phone numbers and call to make an appointment to have your Apple iPad diagnosed and options presented you.

Failing that,

You need to contact Apple support via the contact support link located at the upper right hand corner of every Webpage of these Apple support communities.

Use the Device Performance support category.

OR

by installing and using the Apple Support app found in the iOS App Store.

Tap the iOS App Store link below.

OR

Call contact Apple via the support numbers found in the link bekow.

Hi,

I saw this question asked and have similar issues

I have an iPad Air 3 OS 14.6. 64GB with 28.37GB available

and 2 things are occurring which I would like addressed.

  1. If I step away from using it, the screen never dims….just stays on til I return to use it again.
  2. I had been just hitting the top button to turn off the screen and when I came back, Would hit the home button to turn the screen back on.

But, in the last few weeks (since the last update) I can see that the screen is softly lit but doesn’t bring up the home screen with any pictures or text, it is just blank.

Tried the soft/hard reset maneuvers and I can hear the click from a screen shot being taken but the screen is blank. (And I go into photos and there are 3 or however many pics of screen from me trying to reboot)

Then, after a few minutes, the screen will suddenly come up with the request for my passcode because the fingerprint wasn’t acknowledged. Put in the pin and it works fine.

I am just baffled as to why this just started happening and would appreciate any input and help.

Thanks

Debi

A little hard to advise and help you when you provide NO information about your iPad.

Here are my questions to you.

What year and model iPad do you have/own?

The “A” model number can be found on the aluminium back of your iPad, in small print, right under the larger bold print “iPad”.

What iOS/iPadOS version is this iPad, currently, running?

What is the rated, internal data storage space/capacity of your iPad model and how much of this free, internal data storage capacity is left inside of your iPad model?

All of that additional info can be found in the Settings app, General settings panel, About.

Please attempt to answer all questions asked.

Thank You.
