Thunderbolt Display switches off

I have a Mac mini (late 2014) and a Thunderbolt Display. My display is keeping switching off when not in use. When touching the keyboard/mouse it does not turn on. The only way is to solve is to do a hard reset ( I found a person with the same problem and he said it has to do with the Thunderbolt cable) Now I pull the cable out of the mini for a second and reconnect. That will fix the problem for a couple of hours (but than I have to do it again... fed up with it..) It looks like it is in the software of the Thunderbolt connection. Are there more of these kind of issues?
