Apple Watch Update

My phone is currently being fixed and I want to update my watch but it keeps saying 'Unable to Check for Update"

So my question is, can an Apple Watch update without any access to iPhone at all?

Apple Watch Series 3, watchOS 7

No because the update is downloaded to the phone and then sent by bluetooth to the watch.

Since you have watchOS 7 you can download directly to the Watch but you have to connect to your WiFi.

Do you have at least a 50% battery charge and a good WiFi connection? What version are you currently at?

My battery is at 14% currently but I tried when it was fully charged before and it still didnt work.

The version Is 7.3.3. Model is A1860
