Confused about keyboard shortcuts

I am new to using MacOS and I just had trouble figuring out some keyboard shortcuts , especially the one's on Finder.

When I try to view my path bar to the particular folder I am on by hitting option-command-p on my keyboard , it brings up Finder Preferences instead. I have a similar problem with going to the downloads folder with option-command-L , it instead just shrinks my Icon size.

Please let me know what I'm doing wrong and if I should do anything to fix this.
