Option-Command-L is decrease desktop icon size instead of opening Downloads folder.

Ever since the macOS Big Sur update, when using Option-Command-L keyboard shortcut on Desktop, the icon size is decrease rather than opening the Downloads folder. Once the icon size has reached the minimum, only then the Downloads folder opens. Any idea what is causing this or any fix to this?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.3

Hello gambitfromdystopia,

We understand that a keyboard shortcut isn't working right after a recent software update. We're here for you.

Head into Apple menu > System Preferences > Keyboard. Do you see a yellow warning badge? If so, it could mean that there are conflicting keyboard shortcuts, which might be causing a change in the shortcut behavior:

If the issue persists, we recommend isolating the issue further to your settings or to a more wide-spread issue. To do this, test the issue while booted into safe mode or in another user account. Here's how:

Start up your Mac in safe mode

Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac
