Scam?

Rec’d an email this morning letting me know someone tried to get on my phone. Apple gave me a case #40535358 and it was an iPhone 6S plus. Happened on June 9th in NorfolkVa, IP 70.184.161.131

Does your company do this or is this a scam? They wanted my to log on and change info?

iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 14

Apple does not send such messages. Any and all you get will be scams.

If someone really tries to use your AppleID on a device you’ll get a popup notification with no case number (Apple doesn’t do that for such instances) nor any links nor any IP address. It is assumed you know or can readily figure out how to login to your own AppleID and change the password if you’re concerned.

BTW, this is not Apple Corp. support. These are user to user support forums.
