titles missing when I export my iMovie to mp4 for YouTube upload.

I imported a video from my phone to my mac. I opened iMovie. I added some titles from the library,

When I went to export my video to mp4 so I can upload it to YouTube, all the titles and information are gone from the newly created mp4 file. What's up with that? It never happened before.

In case anyone else has this issue. I wracked my brain until I clicked on settings on the left side and enabled "Automatic content"

I would guess that that happened because you didn't click on the blue reset button to the right of the Preview Screen to apply your title, or perhaps you did not play your exported clip all the way through to see if the title appeared later in the clip.


If the above is not it, then try deleting preferences and then exporting again. Open iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys and select to delete preferences in the box that appears. iMovie will open in a new library. Reopen your old library to get back to your projects.  Deleting preferences is a safe procedure that will not cause data loss or disruption to your project.
