I can not pair my watch to phone. I was trying to update the software and it was unable to do so. I was told to unpair it and then pair it back but I can’t get past the set up

I would first make sure that you have the correct Apple ID and password, and you can sign in to iCloud.com and also your iPhone with that combination. Here are some reset instructions for both, just in case.

Once that is all good, follow up with these steps for the actual update:
