It's stupid that to deregister you need to receive a confirmation code which is sent via text to the number that you are deregistering. Isn't the point that you can't receive any text messages and that's WHY you need to deregister?

Isn't the point that you can't receive any text messages and that's WHY you need to deregister? Have been without texts for 3 days now after deregistering my old iphone 6.

You are deregistering Apple's iMessage service by getting an SMS (non Apple) text message sent by your carrier.


2 separate services.


If you aren't getting SMS messages, you need to reach out to your carrier as Apple does not control SMS/MMS.
