messages in icloud

using icloud.com -- messages is a LOT -- reloaded to phone -- if I delete from phone will the messages then be removed from icloud space?

If you delete the messages from the phone, the message will be removed from iCloud and any other devices/computers using the same Apple ID that are syncing Messages to iCloud.

iCloud storage My iCloud storage is full. It says that 4.7 gig is messages. If I delete this through iCloud does that mean I loose my messages on my phone?
