I lost Apple TV remote. How do I enter the code from the Apple TV remote app into the Apple TV without a remote?

On Apple TV (3rd generation), you will need a functional remote to help set up the software remote.
If you can’t find someone to borrow it from temporarily, then you may want to buy a replacement remote.
A new Apple Remote (aluminum) will have to be linked to the box.
Alternatively you can restore the Apple TV and connect a wireless keyboard to help set up the software remote;
or you can restore the Apple TV and connect the CiderTV Mac app to help set up the app.
