Apple Watch rings

My Apple Watch will no longer notify me or show the animation of my rings closing.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.12

In the Watch app, under Notifications > Activity, try switching the Goal Completions slider OFF and then back ON.

If that does not help, I would suggest unpairing and repairing your watch, starting from here:
