Why is this happening and how do I get it to stop? I do not use the cloud for anything and never have. iPhone Xr and up to date on software version as of 14.4.2

Well, I’ve been syncing my calendar in real time using iCloud for the past 5 years, so I’m rusty on cable syncing. I vaguely recall a setting in iTunes Preferences that only syncs future events when syncing using a cable.
Go to Settings/Calendar/Sync and make sure it says All Events.
Thank you, but it was already on that selection. I had seen that suggestion awhile back. Any other suggestions?
iPhone Calendar drops past entries when synced with iMac. iMac still has them but phone does not.
