I was wondering if I can do a software update on my iPad 4, higher than a 10.
iPad, iOS 10

Since virtually al third party apps developers have abandoned these old iPads nearly 3 years, ago, now is tgr time to seriously consider a purchase of a new iPad model OR a much, MUCH “newer” and less expensive, refurbished or used iPad models, from better known, trusted sources, like other Apple product/device retailers/resellers, locally or online, capable of running the latest iPadOS versions.
There are PLENTY of newer, older iPad models that can run the latest, current versions of iPadOS.
Best of Luck to You!

No.
It lacks the hardware needed for a more modern iOS version.
So I should just get a newer iPad?
If you want. Or a used one.
