Can I use the sim card from a 2013 iPad air in a new iPad?

Find out which size SIM card your iPhone or iPad uses – Apple Support


A new iPad with have 4G/LTE capability - whereas the SIM card from your old iPad may only be enabled for 3G connectivity. You will need to verify with your Cellular carrier if your SIM (and Cellular Service plan) require update.
