I recently purchased a new Mac desktop, my iMac gave up the ghost after nine years. But I have a flash drive that I cannot seem to connect. I get a message, "DISK NOT EJECTED PROPERLY". But I don't think I ever tried to effect the drive before. Anyway to reconnect a flash drive with this problem?
Please try the flash drive in another Mac to test it. If the error is still there then the flash drive has failed. Please remember flash drives were never intended as a long term solution for storage.
Go to Disk Utilities and see if you can format the drive to exFat or fat32 and see if that will work.
Since Im the only enlightened person in my family that has a Mac, that will be hard to do.
Can you clarify: does the Flash drive contain critical files you need to move to the new Mac ,or are you simply want to test the flash drive for future use?
