Confusion on Fitness Calibration on watch

When I go to click the 'reset fitness calibration data' button, a pop up that says that it will result in less accurate workouts. Isn't this the opposite of what I am trying to accomplish?

I shouldn't take any notice of this,it just says that because you're changing the calibration figures from what they were,I do this at least once a month and my fitness data is as accurate as I could possibly get it,I've been doing this calibration for about 5 years now on different watches.
