Mini Display port to USB-C

Mac Air 2014 not detecting second monitor when using Mini display port to USB-C but it detects Mini display port to HDMI.

From my understanding HDMI doesn't support the required resolution needed for my monitor (LC34H892WGEXXY)

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.2

HDMI not recognized by LG UP850 monitor 2018 mac mini running Monterey OS. LG UP850 4K monitor. Monitor will recognize USB-C connection but not HDMI connection. Yes I tried turning off/on both, plugging/unplugging in recommeneded order. The HDMI connection is a better connection which is I want to connect that way.

Does 2018 Mac Mini support DisplayPort Alternative Mode? Would appreciate an answer to this seemingly simple question: does 2018 Mac Mini support USB-C DisplayPort Alternative Mode? I have a monitor that claims to be supporting it. Yet when I connected the monitor to the Mac Mini, the monitor was not aware of the connection and powered off eventually. The cable is USB-C PD, which came with my MBP, and I know it is working fine. Would greatly appreciate your help. Robert

Help me find Good connecting to Mac mini 2020 to a monitor and Huion Kamvas 16 2019 I have Mac Mini 1M 2020 and Huion Kamvas 16 2019 (drawing display tablet). My acer x233H monitor has dvi, vga, and hdmi so dvi convert hdmi to old monitor and Mac mini is working better than hdmi to hdmi (Huion Kamvas 16 connecting to Mac mini working as hdmi to hdmi) I am looking usb c and usb 3.0 to hdmi at amazon.ca but I am not sure to choose good connect for Mac mini and Huion Kamvas. I don't have mini displayport and DisplayPort in monitor and Mac mini. Can you suggest me usb-c or usb 3.0 to hdmi for Mac mini 2020 and Huion Kamvas 16? I need to look at alternatives.

"If you're using a Mini DisplayPort cable with a Mini DisplayPort display, use a third-party USB-C to Mini DisplayPort adapter. Check with its manufacturer for compatibility with your Mac and display model."
