network connection dropped when using zoom

Hello,

I am new to Mac and I am having a connectivity issue.

I am using an ethernet cable to connect to my router and everything works fine.

Download/Upload speed reaches 800MB/s for download and 100MB/s for upload with no issues.

Usually once I open a zoom session the network dies after a minute or two.

The ethernet port on my Hyper Drive keeps blinking normally but I no longer have ping to my router.

At this point I can't get my network back online unless I physically disconnect the Hyper Drive from the Mac and plug it back in. I tried different things like disconnecting the ethernet cable, turning the adapter off and on (network preferences), deleting the arp entries etc...

Network settings shows the adapter as connected, routes seems to be fine and arp seems to be fine.

I can't ping or even arping the router.

Not sure what I am missing, as I said I am new to Mac.

I am suspecting maybe the Hyper Drive hardware is not working properly but I don't have another adapter to try it out.

Any ideas will be appreciated as I am using online meetings all day long.

Thanks

Offer Baruch

Sorry you are having such trouble staying connected on Zoom. The Ethernet cable seems a great choice.

Unfortunately, I'm no expert. But it may help in getting more expert help if we knew which Mac (eg. iMac, MacBook Pro?) you are using, and which Operating System. (e.g: Big Sur, Catalina, etc.)

Also, my recent Zoom upgrade was version 5.5.2 ... might you need to upgrade ?

Regards.
