Yes, it is confusing. I made a mistake, iCloud Drive does exist. I am SOOOOO sorry 😢. To share a file go to files, iCloud Drive, long press the file you wish to share, select share, select share file in iCloud, and then add people and change what they can access. I hope this helps. https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/share-files-with-icloud-file-sharing-mchl91854a7a/mac

According to this there is. Additionally I was advised that the family sharing plan would afford me the same benefits as Google Drive which Iāve now canceled and have subscribed to the Family Sharing Bundle package.
as you can see itās a bit confusing
Thank you but that didnāt work.
my wife has no access to our family account. Sheās listed as a parent/guardian but through āfilesā she does not see anything but her own iCloud data.
How can we link the family account to her phone so she doesnāt have to log in with my credentials?
So with āfamily sharingā what can you share via the iCloud Drive? If itās a family plan, do the family members assigned to the plan, not have access to the drive, photos etc?
Iāve created folders in the drive that stores photos based on their type or event and Iād like my wife to have access to those via her iPhone. How can that be accomplished?
This is exactly what I want to accomplish too. What IOS version are you using for this. I am assuming you are doing this from an iPad and not a Mac? When I do as you suggest I do not get the share selection at all. I get all of these except Share. I can't get anything like this on my Mac either. Is there possibly a step missing that I don't know about?
Hi, make sure that she is in the family on family sharing. To access family iCloud go to settings, Apple ID (your name) iCloud, manage storage, and here you can use the family plan.
Oh, you are talking about iCloud files. There is no way to share files via iCloud. Only personal accounts can place files on the cloud and they can only be accessed by that account
Hi Eric, there is no such thing as iCloud Drive as far as I know. To transfer photos I would recommend sending via airdrop or a Mac.
I am using an iPad running iPadOS 14. This will also work on an iPhone. Fo me this only works on non app files. Try transferring a file to a new folder.
