I have iMac (21.5-inch, Mid 2011), macOS High Sierra, Version 10.13.6. I can no longer update my computer; will have to buy a new one! I know Adobe Flash Player is no longer supported. Should I uninstall? What is replacing it for games? How can I tell what version of Flash Player I have? How to tell if updates are legitimate?

There are no further updates. And yes, it should be uninstalled asap. And no, you do not need it - actually haven't for a while now.
Make sure you uninstall from Adobe site.
