indexing spotlight
When re indexing spotlight how log do you have to leave the location you want to index in the privacy tab??? Before you take it out to reinfect it ?? And how do you know if it did anything ???

You only need to put it in the Privacy tab for a second or two.
Any item you put in the Privacy tab of Spotlight does not get indexed.
If you highlight that item and click the minus button then Spotlight will start to index the item you removed.
If you click on Spotlight in the menubar and enter a word you should see a progress bar showing Spotlight indexing.
