There appears to be a conflict in the documentation

I subscribe to both Apple Music and iTunes Match (since I buy music from Bandcamp, Boomkat, etc)

I'm trying to determine if iTunes Match is actually redundant

Subscribe to iTunes Match

iTunes Match gives you access to all of your music on all of your devices, even songs that you've imported from other sources such as CDs.

Turn on Sync Library with Apple Music

If you subscribe to Apple Music, you can turn on Sync Library to access your music library and music that you've downloaded from Apple Music on all of your devices.

Since, music from Bandcamp, etc. isn't downloaded from Apple Music, both pages can't be correct/reflective of the current situation.

Anyone have experience with this?

iTunes Match is redundant if you have Apple Music. both services use iCloud Music Library which can upload or match ripped music and songs obtained through other providers. There are exclusions for purchases from a different Apple ID, songs that too short, too long, or large, or too low a bit rate, but they apply equally to either service.

I used to have iTunes Match and switched to Apple Music with no ill effects. I do however keep a full backup of my entire library just in case.
